Based on the Mégane Renaultsport 230 F1 Team R26, the R26.R was actually designed at 123kg lighter! The excessive weight reduction was achievable via the removal of many aspects of the car including the rear seats & seat belts, passenger and side airbags, climate control, rear wiper and heated rear screen, front fog lamps, headlamp washers, the radio and the majority of the soundproofing.

The R26.R also features as standard a carbon fibre bonnet, rear spoiler, polycarbonate tailgate and rear side windows, roll cage, Sabalt seats with a carbon fibre shell and 6 point harnesses fitted to each. This example also comes complete with AP brakes, an ECU remap and uprated intercooler.

There were a very limited number of just 450 R26.Rs produced, 230 of which being destined for the UK – this fantastic example is number 68 of the 230 UK RHD cars.
